CINANIMA celebrates Children’s Day with a free animation programme online

CINANIMA – International Animated Film Festival of Espinho – is joining the celebration of Children’s Day with an initiative designed especially for younger audiences. From 1 to 6 June 2025, a set of 21 carefully selected animated films for children will be available online, providing moments of discovery, creativity and fun.

The programme brings together mostly European short films that reflect the artistic, cultural and linguistic diversity of independent animated cinema. With different visual styles and engaging narratives, the films have been chosen to stimulate the imagination, sensitivity and critical eye of the little ones.

All the films can be watched for free on CINANIMA’s official YouTube channel, allowing schools, families and educational institutions across the country to enjoy this cultural offer without any geographical or economic barriers.

This initiative reinforces CINANIMA’s role in promoting visual and artistic literacy from an early age, and continues the work carried out by the festival over its almost five decades of existence, always with a commitment to making animated cinema accessible to all.

We invite educators, teachers, students and parents to share this celebration through the cinema, discovering new authors, new stories and new worlds – all from home or the classroom.
