In the past days of May 8th, 9th, and 10th, the Leiria Film Fest exhibited a selection of short films from CINANIMA Junior, especially dedicated to young audiences. This initiative provided moments of cinematic immersion for children of all ages, with a total of 10 sessions that undoubtedly touched the hearts of the young spectators.
Over the three days of screenings, 1285 kids had the opportunity to dive into imaginary worlds, meet captivating characters, and learn important life lessons, all through the magic of animation.
The short films from the CINANIMA Junior programmes were carefully chosen to offer a variety of styles and stories, from exciting adventures to more contemplative tales, each with a special message. The diversity of the works introduced the youngsters to different animation techniques and innovative narratives, demonstrating the richness and creativity of animation in an educational and emotional journey. The children could laugh at the characters’ mistakes, feel the tension of the adventures, and, above all, reflect on the messages conveyed by each story.
The success of the CINANIMA Junior sessions at the Leiria Film Fest is a testament to the positive impact that animated cinema can have on the cultural and intellectual development of children.
