During the months of March and April, CINANIMA has been present in various cities with its itinerant programme, providing an animation cinema experience for audiences of all ages. This events not only promote art and cinema but also educate and culturally enrich spectators.
On April 8th, Cinemalua in São Brás de Alportel hosted CINANIMA Junior, in partnership with the José Belchior Viegas Schools Group and with the support of the local City Council. The school sessions provided unique moments of entertainment and learning, extending until April 12th. The “Let’s All Go to the Cinema!” programme promoted an inclusive and free experience, taking students, teachers, and assistants from all educational establishments in the municipality to a cinema session.
The closing sessions, titled “Children Take Their Parents to the Cinema,” took place on April 14th, with adapted schedules for different age groups, from preschool to secondary education.
In the same week, from April 8th to 13th, the Auditorium of the Dr. Afonso Rodrigues Cultural Centre in Lourinhã was also the scene of a noteworthy cinematic celebration. The event featured free cinema sessions, aimed at schools, families, and the general public. With the aim of promoting animation cinema as an art form, the sessions provided moments of fun and learning for all attendees.
Activities included school sessions during April 8th to 12th, with advance booking, as well as a special session of award-winning films on April 12th, aimed at those over 16 years old. On April 13th, families had the opportunity to enjoy sessions adapted for different age groups: at 3 pm for children aged 3 to 9, at 4:15 pm for young people aged 10 to 15, and at 5:30 pm for teenagers aged 15 to 18.
After the success in São Brás de Alportel and Lourinhã, CINANIMA continued its journey across the country, visiting cities such as Viana do Castelo and Lisbon! On April 17th, it participated in the XXII Computer Graphics and Multimedia Conference of ESTG-IPVC, in Viana do Castelo, with a special session of the award-winning films of CINANIMA 2023. And in Lisbon, on April 23rd, it was present at Cinalfama for a cinema night full of excellent short films, containing the programme of the 2023 winners, with free entry for all interested parties.
