CINANIMA, as the coordinating festival of FAN – Festival Animation Network, continues to promote the best of European animation.
FAN brings together five partner animation festivals from Europe – Animafest Cyprus (Cyprus), Animasyros (Greece), CINANIMA (Portugal), IMAGINARIA (Italy) and Prime the Animation! (Spain) – in a dynamic collaboration that spans the continent from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and also includes associated partner festivals from various parts of the world. This network promotes auteur animation cinema, supports emerging talent and encourages cultural exchange.
The two programmes that are circulating within the scope of the FAN Tour are:
- FAN Masters, dedicated to renowned European animation authors, with a thematic curation around the theme ‘Memory’ for the year 2025;
- FAN. Young European Talents , which provides a platform for young creators between the ages of 18 and 30, with short films that reveal new perspectives and narrative styles.
One of the highlights will be the awarding of the FAN. Young European Talents Award , which will recognise a work by a young director that stands out for its artistic excellence and originality. The award aims not only to promote the new generation of European animators, but also to reinforce FAN’s commitment to the future of independent creation in the sector.
The award – a FAN cheque of €5,000 – will be given on 23 August at the closing ceremony of the IMAGINARIA Festival in Italy.
