‘Hello Grandpa, Hello Grandma’ awarded at Viana Film Festival

The film ‘Hello Grandpa, Hello Grandma’, made by the primary school students from Agrupamento de Escolas de Argoncilhe – EB do Souto de Nogueira da Regedoura under the guidance of directors and trainers Ema Lavrador and Leonor Faria Henriques, won the AÇÃO.11! Award in the category of best animated film for the primary schools, as part of Encontros / 25th Viana Film Festival.

The film was developed as part of the Children F1rst project, an initiative that promotes filmmaking with primary school children, as part of the FRAME – Watching and Making Animated Cinema program. The project has the support of ICA – Instituto de Cinema e Audiovisual Português and Plano Nacional de Cinema.

The competition AÇÃO.11! Festival Luso-Galaico de Vídeo Escolar , in which the film was honoured, is a competitive section of the festival dedicated to promoting culture and audiovisual practice in schools. The competition is open to primary and secondary school classes, groups of students and film clubs in Portugal, as well as schools in Galicia with equivalent levels of education.
