The aim of this masterclass is to explore the world of animated cinema, to appreciate the multidisciplinary expression it offers and to discover its potential as an educational and artistic tool.
As well as raising teachers’ awareness of the various ways of incorporating animated cinema into teaching practices, this initiative aims to bring the educational community closer to the film industry by encouraging contact with some directors – who will share their experiences and knowledge.
There will be a presentation by Elsa Mendes, Marina Estela Graça moderating the session and two of the most influential protagonists of the current Portuguese animation scene: Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves. The focus will be on the acclaimed short film ‘Água Mole’, with an analysis that explores the creative processes involved, its themes and techniques, as well as the possibilities for applying animation cinema in educational contexts.
