VIARCO is a century-old pencil factory that combines a rich industrial heritage with innovation in
graphite products, promotes artist residencies and competes in the global market against industry giants. VIARCO remains the only pencil factory in Portugal and is probably one of the most versatile in the world. The visit is free of charge with bus travel, departing at 9:45 a.m. in front of Centro Multimeios and arriving at 12:15 p.m. at the same location.

Those interested have the opportunity to walk through the historic corridors where the barrels rest and absorb the unique aromas and flavours of the region.

The visit is free, but visitors must purchase their own train tickets. Registration can be done or at the Festival Front Office.
