CINANIMA Junior is an initiative of the Educational Service of CINANIMA – International Animation Film Festival of Espinho.

CINANIMA Junior corresponds to three animation cinema programmes (extensions of the festival) that include films submitted to the competition in the immediately preceding year. CINANIMA Junior was launched in 2014 and has a partnership with the National Cinema Plan.

CINANIMA Junior includes three distinct programmes that target three specific age groups:

• Children Programme: for students in pre-school and primary school, for reference: age range from 3 to 9 years old;
• Adolescents Programme: for students in the middle school, for reference: age range from 10 to 15 years of age;
• Youngsters Programme: for high school students, for reference age: range from 15 to 18 years old.

CINANIMA Junior ‘s sessions are scheduled annually and start on January 15th until june 30th, right after the Festival.

The request for the CINANIMA Junior Programmes obeys scrupulous compliance with specific regulations that stipulates the mandatory rules and procedures for all entities or institutions that request it.
